THE ART OF CAST IRON CARE
Rule #1 - don’t use soap.
That’s really all that matters. But read on if you must.
2. Wet the pan and sprinkle generously with coarse kosher salt.
3. Scrub the pan with a green scrubby, a paper towel, or gentle brush –– the salt is the abrasive here.
4. Rinse the pan with clean water and heat on the stove until all water has evaporated.
5. Oil the pan using a paper towel and rub until clean and shiny.
6. Turn the pan upside down and store in a dry place.
